Why the link holds under load.
The voice bearer is a guaranteed-bit-rate (GBR) class, scheduled ahead of best-effort LTE data. Instead of bonding more best-effort links, the VC2 link holds even when the cell fills.
Scheduled first.
C2 rides the QCI-1 voice class, scheduled ahead of best-effort data when the cell is busy. Latency stays bounded under load.
Two paths in parallel.
VC2 carries C2 on the voice channel and the LTE data path at the same time. If one drops, the other is already carrying it.
Multi-modem redundancy.
A second VOX runs fully independent, with its own SIM, modem, power, and companion. Four parallel paths, no single point of failure.

Proprietary modulation.
C2 on the voice channel rides a proprietary modulation: data carried as audio, not a standard network protocol. An interceptor records sound, not the data traffic their tools expect.
Outbound only.
The drone reaches out to Voltela's servers. Nothing on the public internet reaches in to your drone. No inbound ports, no firewall holes.
Encrypted data path.
The data path runs over an encrypted Tailscale tunnel, built on WireGuard. No internet data moves between your drone and ground station outside it, and none is shared with third parties.
